The New Moods: A legendary icon reimagined

The New Moods, or the resurrection of an institution

As part of a series of major transformations in the heart of the Place du Casino, the reopening of the legendary Moods was a highly anticipated event. The famous Monegasque concert venue has opted for a more subdued décor to create the right atmosphere for all kinds of events.

After 14 long years of closure, the iconic and long-awaited New Moods finally reopened its doors on 5 December 2024. This legendary venue for Monaco nightlife is now known as the New Moods and has a new string to its bow, as it is now fully ready and available for private hire for seminars, staff incentives and other professional events. This is a great way for this institution to enhance its range of services while preserving what has made it a success.

A unique establishment in the Principality

The New Moods’ advantages are manifold. First and foremost, it enjoys a special location, just a stone’s throw from prestigious establishments such as the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo. Located beneath the Café de Paris Casino, in the heart of the vibrant Place du Casino, it is easily accessible and has several secure car parks nearby.

The New Moods can accommodate 120 people seated and up to 200 for cocktails, and has three fully-equipped dressing rooms and two stages with impeccable acoustics. The icing on the cake is that this concert and performance venue has no sound restrictions, so the fun atmospheres of its events can carry on throughout the evening and into the early hours of the morning.

A resolutely eclectic programme

For its reopening, the New Moods has been decked out in velvet, with red and gold tones enveloping it in a soft warmth. The new décor also celebrates the performing arts, with musical instruments displayed here and there, such as the Showster electric guitar that belonged to Jean-René Palacio, the former artistic director of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.

It is in this intimate, hushed atmosphere that the establishment now offers a joyful, cutting-edge programme of events, guided by a sincere love of every form of art. There are shows of all kinds, from jazz concerts to electro DJ sets, one-man shows, stand-up comedy, tribute bands and themed evenings. It's an eclectic mix that proves that, even out of season, there's never a dull moment in the beating heart of Monaco.

A Michelin-starred finger food menu

The New Moods has a cosy décor, a warm atmosphere and a tempting finger food menu. The latter is by Marcel Ravin, chef at the Blue Bay in Monaco, who has been awarded two Michelin stars and three toques by Gault & Millau. His selection of amuse-bouches includes a succulent brie and truffle nougatine with fruit, a brioche with gravlax salmon, jalapeño potatoes, and an amazing coconut, peanut and maracuja dessert.

At the bar, great champagnes rub shoulders with the finest wines, as do three signature cocktails: the New Moods Cuban, the Raspberry Fool and the Sweet Mexican. The spirits and digestifs are not to be outdone, with Clément “Marcel Ravin” rum, specially created in 2024 to mark the reopening of the Blue Bay Marcel Ravin restaurant and combining aromas of cocoa, leather and vanilla.
